France is very fond of its cycling. This enthusiasm is no less profound in the Pyrénées Orientales (despite the demanding mountainous terrain!).

Our part of Roussillon is especially well-blessed with well-maintained forestry tracks for mountain biking as well as beautifully surfaced and exhilirating roads for road cyclists. Just be sure you bring enough stamina!

New marked tracks have very recently been opened up for mountain biking around our village (Montferrer).

If you've not brought bikes with you, then most villages or towns will hire out vélo tout terrain (VTT or mountain bikes). The best place to ask is the Tourist Office.

You'll also find bike hire at most railway stations.
